Established in 1996, Amigos Translate (now trading as Amigos: Interpreters & Translators) is the first and only continuously operating, non-government interpreting and translating agency in Tasmania.
We provide experienced and professional interpreters throughout all of Tasmania.
In July 2015, BGM Amigos Pty Ltd assumed ownership of Amigos Translate and set to work to transform the company into a modern, professional interpreting service. The Managing Director, Michael Morgan, has tertiary qualifications in applied linguistics, accounting and finance, management, community services, and teaching/education.
Under the new ownership, Amigos is committed to working closely with NAATI and AUSIT to ensure all our interpreters are fully competent and act professionally at all times.
We are also committed to professionalising the language services industry in Tasmania. To this end, our Training Officer(s) provide training for our client’s staff to enable them to distinguish high-quality and substandard interpreting practices based on the Code of Ethics for Interpreters.
