Amigos Interpreters & Translators
We provide interpreting services in Hobart and Launceston, with some languages locally covered for on-site sessions in other parts of the state. Where an on-site interpreter is not possible we can organise for an over-the-phone or remote video replacement where appropriate.
Operating continuously since 1996, we are presently the only Tasmanian-owned and based language company employing interpreters (we do not sham-contract interpreters who operate as their own business using their own ABN). Thus, all our interpreters are fully insured, paid fairly, and are provided with ongoing training. We are an ethical and service focused company specialising in the provision of NAATI certified interpreters (over 85 employed at present which should increase to more than 125 over the next 12-18 months with training support). Our interpreters can be provided for most scenarios including:
- health and medical,
- legal and Courts,
- child care and social services,
- personal and
- educational scenarios.
Depending on your needs and flexibility we can organise voice-overs for recordings, as well as simultaneous interpreters for conferences.
We provide translation services for personal and corporate clients. ALL our translations are undertaken by NAATI certified or recognised translators, ensuring accuracy.
Feel free to make an appointment to visit our office to discuss what you require but we can normally organise the translation by email (scan and email the documents).
Common personal documents include: Drivers Licenses, Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates, Police Clearances, Qualifications.
Personal documents are generally ‘extract translated’ which means the core personal information is translated, along with any other relevant important entries. If the translation is required ‘in full’, then the price will depend on the final English word count.
It is best to check with whoever you are lodging the translation with (Service Tasmania, Department of Immigration, Courts, etc) as to the exact requirements of the translation before proceeding as they may vary in needs. Some requirements can include the translator being required to complete an affidavit, etc.
